We booked this property for 5 nights, and the location is wonderful! It is very walkable to many of the parks, restaurants, and shops in Kihei as well as having a phenomenal view of the ocean off the balcony, which for us was the highlight of the unit. Unfortunately, both AC units in the residence were broken and it made it extremely difficult to sleep or spend time inside. Thankfully we ended up working with the property manager who assisted in relocating us to a different unit with working AC.

It was quite nice to be on the water side of the road, specially sitting on the lanai watching the surfers while enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee. This was a return stay at punahou beach. Yhis unit has unobstructed views of the other islands. The small complex was an easy walk to cove park, kalama park, charlie young beach and all restaurants in the area. All amenities worked perfect. Great instructions for check in and checking out. I would definitely rent this unit again on my next visit.

First of all location is the best. Walking distance from Kihei center (Paia fish market, foodland, etc) and good to visit many good place in Maui by car.
Balcony view was so amazing, adjacent beach in north side is good to surf, southern one is good to swim with sandy beach. Umbrella and beach chair provided was very helpful.
Nice temperature with 2 A/C one in living room and one in bedroom. The bed was also nice.
The parking lot is not big but still my Jeep was alright.

Could not be a better spot. 5 minutes walk from the beginner surf beach and the best relaxation beach in town. 10 minutes walk to all the best food spots in Kihei.
The apartment was wonderful, the balcony sea views were spectacular. Sunsets every night were a treat. The hosts were responsive and gracious. Would absolutely recommend staying here.

Honestly, I can't imagine a better place to stay in Kihei. It's on the water side of South Kihei Road, which is rare for a non-resort property. Close to several great beaches, with the very lovely Charley Young Beach just steps away. The property owner has provided chairs, an umbrella, and other beach equipment for your use. Because it's on the water side, the view from the lanai is phenomenal. 180 degrees of water and palm trees, with Kaho‘olawe and Lana'i off in the distance. It's a lovely 10-minute walk to the central shopping/bar area of town. Super comfortable bed in a quiet room away from the main street. Totally useable kitchen if you want to save money on meals. Whenever I manage to get back to Maui, I'll stay here.

This is our 3rd stay at Punahoa. Our first visits were in 1997 and 2000, and we again found this facility and location to be ideal. Located in Kihei, it is an easy walk to restaurants, food carts, the “Snorkel Store”, & of course the ABC store. The condo unit has a beautiful location on the shoreline with well-groomed grounds and wonderful sunset views. It is an easy drive to some of the best beaches for snorkeling, body surfing, & relaxing. The location is a short distance off Kihei Road, so it is quiet and peaceful. Our condo was clean, with a well-equipped kitchen & 2 AC units (bedroom & living room) that could be run separately from one another. Parking is a bit tight, but doable. The management company was communicative and responded quickly to our concerns about a non-working garbage disposal. The Punahoa manager was friendly, and even shared his lumpia with us on the patio one evening. Yes, we would definitely stay here again if we return to Maui.

We had a great time at this spot for our week long honeymoon. The views for our nightly sunset were always included and always amazing. We saw whales, turtles, and seals all from the small beach in front of us. The unit is stocked with everything that you'd need and is close to shopping. We booked this condo for its location and view and they did not disappoint! We loved it. The condo is comfortable with all amenities you might need. We knew from the other reviews that the furniture is dated, so it was not a surprise. The couch in the living room need to be replaced and the cabinets in the kitchen fixed. It also would be nice to have more shampoo and conditioner (sample size only was provided), some oil and at least start up coffee pods for the first morning after your arrival. Other than that our stay was wonderful. It's a lovely small condo building right on the snorkeling beach and few steps from sandy beach. We enjoyed watching turtles, whales and surfers from the balcony. The location is very central for Kihei. Loved our stay and would recommend it.

I've stayed at other rentals on the same street on previous trips to Maui and this one is by far my favorite. The property has amazing views and right on the water. Everything was clean and they provided beach chairs and umbrellas. You can snorkel right on the beach in front of the property and the Charlie young beach is only a 2 min walk from here and area is great for beginner surfers. Every amenities you can think of is also a 5 min walk away. Would definitely book this place again. The property management has great communication and we had no problems during our stay at all. If these condos offered other units with more bedrooms, I definitely recommend for a family. We stayed in one of their one bedroom condos.

We loved the location of this unit and especially loved the ocean view with the high surf in January. Whales were aplenty to watch. Nearness to Kamaole Beaches was an easy walk for morning enjoyment. The unit could use some modernizing in terms of wall decor and furniture. There is no pool. The lanai is a very nice place to enjoy morning coffee and meals. Overall, a good place to enjoy.

I would highly recommend this spot for your next Maui experience. It had everything we needed including beach equipment to use. Very comfortable and tucked away from the main road. The view we had every day from this place was stunning and it was unbelievable that the ocean just a short walk away. Very comfortable bed as well. There are so many places downtown and around that you will have lots of food choices and nightlife if you want it. We will be back and stay again.

Location is excellent, right on the water. We went snorkeling off the small hidden beach just in front of the building and saw 3 turtles! Everything you need to chill on the beach is provided (chairs, umbrella, cooler, towels, etc). Very close to great local restaurants (Kihei Caffe, Paia Fish Market). Parking is very tight, but doable. Decor is outdated, but the view is beautiful. Next door neighbors had some construction going on during the day the one day we weren't out and about which was annoying but not unreasonable. Shower wasn't amazing if that's important to you, but it works. Bedroom windows face the stairwell and can let in a lot of noise with people talking outside in the morning or at night but not a deal breaker. Overall, excellent stay and host, real gem with the location and (sort of) private beach.

My husband & I did NOT want to leave this condo! The unit was perfect for the 2 of us - you are paying for an unbeatable view of the ocean/sunset and to be steps away from surfing, great beaches & downtown. The unit itself was a little dated & we had a few ants on the counter (despite storing all of our food in the fridge), but neither of those things would keep us from staying here again. Also some of the reviews mention tight parking - we had a Pathfinder & were fine, though very close to our neighbors' spot. If you're renting a bigger car - or are less confident in your parking abilities - there is plenty of street parking all around!

The property's location is amazing. Right on the coast and easy walk in town and shops and restaurants. Well furnished but the balcony area hadn't been cleaned for sometime - we had to clean it before using it. Even though the building had been checked and designated ready for use we weren't allowed access until 4pm - which is the published time but felt a bit petty. All in all a great condo.

Everything was wonderful. Close to walking distance in Kehei. The only complaint is the water pump in the bedroom a/c right over the bed. It's loud enough to keep you awake. Shout out to property management for bringing fans to help drown out the noise as I'm sure people were busy with the recent destruction in Lahaina. Would stay again. I fell in love with the condo when I arrived and felt so lucky to have located it here on VRBO. Quite simply it is off the main drag so you don't notice the traffic noise. What a plus! The condo is easily accessed by stairs or elevator! The condo itself is wonderful. I was so pleased and would love to return there. It is not a high-rise development with hundreds of people. Ideal. The main walkway for the beach is next to the shoreline and you can sit on your balcony and watch surf, snorklers, paddlers,walkers, kids, dogs happily walking by. Not a crowd, just an occasional person or group. Finally, I really enjoyed watching the surfers in the Cove next to the condo. Great fun. Wonderful accommodations!

My husband and I and our 16-month-old stayed here for 5 nights in February. The greatest part about this condo is the location— the ocean view and walkability to food, coffee, beaches, were the reasons we chose this condo in the first place (and didn't disappoint!) The bed was very comfortable with decent pillows which was a plus. The unit itself is smaller/tighter than the pictures suggest. As other reviews note, the bedroom gets a lot of noise from the street/exterior but our toddler's white noise machine helped to drown some of that out. Without the white noise, I'm not sure we would have slept particularly peacefully. Overall it was a great stay and being able to wake up to whale spouts and catch the occasional breach, was very cool.

This property was super cute, clean and nice!! The view was amazing and also short walk from many beaches and restaurants. The only thing was that our AC in the bedroom was buzzing a little and they came within a few hours and fixed it. The bed and pillows were super comfy and we each had our own closet where we could put our empty suitcases and hang our clothes plus plenty of drawer space. Highly reccomend!!

A small waterfront condo with beautiful views. Our stay was interrupted the first day because of bug spraying in the condo, which was disappointing because we were asked to leave for 4hours. The pictures online paint a nicer picture of the condo than it is in reality. For the price, it was worth it for the views/location, but next time we will definitely upgrade.

Perfect location where you can watch the sunset every night. Easy walking to the sandy Charley Young beach. Also walking distance to many shops and local restaurants. Bed was very comfortable, AC worked well, appliances were all nice, and the kitchen had a variety of cooking supplies. The cooler and beach chairs were also extremely helpful! The sliding door to the lanai was stuck and very inconvenient to open or close. And some of the kitchen drawers were not in the best shape, some about fell out of the cabinets when you opened them. Also note that the exterior walls were made of slats. This was around the sliding doors, which allowed for amazing beach sounds coming into the living room as you hung out. But this was also true for the bedroom, which faced the parking lot and stairs. So it wasn't able to be fully sealed, which caused sounds from the street and people walking on the stairs to come right into the bedroom. Overall it was a great place for a couple and the location could not have been better. We would recommend it to friends.

It is an older condo unit, you can see the signs of wear here and there. The best feature is the view of the ocean right off the balcony and easy access to the beaches. The photos presented in the advert sold us on this location. I have to say the owners have made an effort to make it homey, there is a serviceable kitchen with dishes and pots and pans, so you don't have to rely on eating out. The unit has old furniture but everything is clean. Unfortunately, there are a number of things that made us sorry we chose this place for our vacation… The lift doesn't work, so if you have heavy luggage, you will be carrying that up two flights of stairs. There is no in-unit washer and dryer, you have to go to a little room downstairs next to the parking lot. They have coin-operated machines. It is an inconvenience, not really a big deal. But you have to wait around for the cycles to finish and remove your things in time. You can't just put in a load then go to the beach and dry them later. There are cockroaches and spiders. I got a spider bite on my neck the second night. They wrote a notice that pests can be an issue if you leave food out, but we didn't, we were careful to keep everything clean. And we kept food in the fridge. We still got them, and the roaches are huge. I finally decided they might be coming up the drain in the shower, and after I covered that we didn't see any more. This is a common problem in older buildings in hot climates. The noise was the biggest issue The pumps on the A/C units: make a clicking-buzzing noise. More noticeable at night it is something hard to tune out, and the A/C units are located above the bed and above the couch-bed. The bedroom is on the parking lot, and street side. people talk loud, beep their car locks, slam doors. The garbage trucks come on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 5 AM. You will be disturbed by all of these things. Surfer Beach parties: the closest beach is just next door, and it is the beach where most surfers go. The surfers and their families have tailgate parties. The unit upstairs has furniture that scrapes on the floor. If you're a deep sleeper, you might like this place, it is a nice location and great view, but due to the noise, we felt it was not worth the price they're asking.

This condo has a lanai that is right on the ocean for world class views of the morning sky, surfers, paddleboarders, turtles and sunsets. It is cozy, clean and comfortable with a bed that is like sleeping on a cloud. It is slightly busy during the day but very quiet at night and within walking distance of restaurants and touristy shopping. A nice kitchen with a great blender for smoothies. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful lanai view. We spent a lot of time just hanging out out there and watching people surf, listening to the waves. Very close proximity to great beaches. Super close to town and Foodland etc. Overall a great stay.

We loved our stay here in Kihei, very good location. Great walking on sidewalks in one direction and over sandy and rocky beaches in the other. There really isn't snorkeling right outside the condo, You need to travel to find some good snorkeling. The condo is comfortable, we slept great. The kitchen was great, we were able to eat breakfast and some lunches in the condo. We ate at the Kihei cafe for yummy banana macadamia nut pancakes. We loved the road to Hana, and exploring in Lahaina. One recommendation is to rent a small car, the parking is very tight.

The view from the lanai is amazing. You can sit and watch the beautiful sunset everyday (although Lanai - the island - is in the way but it doesn't take away too much from the lovely experience). The condo is close to some of the best beaches in Maui as well as many great restaurants in Kihei. A couple of downsides are that any food left out, even if just crumbs, will quickly be attacked by tiny bugs (usually ants) and the WiFi was occasionally spotty or had trouble connecting. Overall, we had a great time

Million dollar view at this condo! Waking up every morning and having coffee on the lanai, soaking in the beautiful ocean vistas and listening to the waves crash against the shore was absolutely dreamy. The view and location of this property is 5 stars plus! It?s very close to a small (almost private!) cove beach and also steps away from the beautiful charley young beach. We swam everyday there!! Also very short walk into town and nearby all the best restaurants/shopping that Kihei has to offer. It was hard

Great view. Quiet. Everything is close, walking distance, beaches, board rental, restaurants, shops. Definitely our best choice on Maui, we've been over 10 times on Maui. Will try to return here next time.

This stay was our second stay at this location in 18 months. The condominium, views, and location are second to none. The condo was clean, up-to-date, and met all of our expectations.
The location is within walking distance of shopping and dining options. Best, though, is the beach options just outside the door. A small secluded beach is within 25 feet of the condo, with the larger Charley Young Beach only a short 4-minute, walk away. Nothing is better than sitting on the condo lanai and watch
