This is such a lovely property, with so much charm. The location and setting is beautiful You can enjoy morning coffee with a view of the ocean from the lanai. The grounds are well maintained and cared for. The unit is clean and was great for our family of five. The kitchen was a nice mix to balance with eating out. Communication was excellent, sharing all pertinent details. We did not have any issues during our stay, highly recommend!

Our family spent a wonderful week Hale Hui Kai in unit #208. The property is on a perfect beach and we could see the ocean from our lanai. We enjoyed snorkeling around the nearby rock outcroppings and playing in the waves. We had many long walks along the beach that extended on to a paved walkway past luxury resorts in Wailea. Keawakapu Beach never seemed crowded. The provided beach umbrella and chairs (6!) were appreciated.
The condo was very nicely updated and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The kitchen was well-stocked, the bed and bath linens were very nice, beds were comfortable, and beach towels were provided. The unit was very clean and we never saw any bugs. The air conditioners kept all the rooms comfortable.
Vacation Maui was very attentive and contacted me several times prior to our stay to ensure we had arrival instructions. I needed to contact them a couple times during our stay and they were available and quickly resolved our issues.
A couple things to note: We had plenty of toilet paper, garbage bags, paper towels, dish detergent and dishwasher pods, but did need to purchase bath soap/body wash. What was provided would not be sufficient. There was more shampoo and conditioner but we brought our own.
There are dehumidifiers in the bedrooms. At first there was a musty odor, but it went away once the moisture was pulled out of the air and we didn't notice it again.
Fantastic week and I'd stay here again! 10 out of 10.

The unit had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and we loved the deck too. Great location can do a 20 minute walk and be at several restaurants and stores. Loved walking the beach every morning and snorkeling down the beach. We used the pool as well. We were happy we picked this place.

This condo was a memory maker for our family. The condo was gorgeous with amazing views. The fact that we could literally walk right out onto a beautiful beach was the perfect vacation. The condo had a boogie board that my kids loved using to catch waves. There was also a perfect area for snorkeling also. The 2 king beds also provided perfect comfort so we were rested to play the next day. My kids continued to say that this was the best vacation ever. Maui is awesome and the condo was also. I can't speak any higher of it. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Todd and Jace for all your help and allowing us the opportunity to make forever memories with our family!

We stayed at Hale Hui Kai complex for the second time in March 2024 for spring break. We love this property and the close proximity to the Keawakapu Beach just steps down from the condo. We were a little worried about the beach erosion from the storms earlier this year, but the beach was as beautiful as ever. The condo was equipped with all the inside items (cooking/towels/soap, etc) needed for our stay. The condo has an ocean view off the lanai and we saw tons of whales during this trip, and an abundance of turtles while swimming and snorkeling at the rocks below the condo. This condo has a nice shower in the master as well as a tub for kids in the second bathroom. A/C was in both bedrooms and the main living area along with dehumidifiers, which made a huge difference for comfortable sleeping. No boogie boards, water toys, or sand toys for kids that we usually find left by other guests, but there were plenty of beach chairs, a cooler, and an umbrella for the beach. Overall this stay was great and we love this property, especially having young kids (ages 4 & 6) and not needing to pack up all of our stuff in the car every day to go to the beach.

The property is very expensive $450 per night and no half day stays. There are no BBQs on site. The views are great and the location right on Keawakapu is awesome. The building is designed to capture the view and the breeze. The parking stalls are tiny. The noise carries from unit to unit. Our unit had no cold or cool water in the MB ensuite shower. A/C units worked well. Second bedroom had a missing blind on one window. No privacy. All windows had immovable baffles (shutters that were painted and stuck either open or closed) The dishes were mix and match and some had cracks in them. The knifes were not sharp - not even close. The cutlery was low standard. The teflon frying pans are worn. The kick on the cupboard beside the fridge kept falling off. Loved the starter pack left by management. I've been to Maui 16 times over the years staying in Kihei at various condos. This place was alright but not exactly great value.

We had an amazing stay on Maui. If you are looking for the perfect central location directly on one of Maui's best beaches, look no further. Our unit #208 was clean and comfortable. Our family of five had plenty of space. The views of the ocean are breathtaking, yet the unit's location still feels private. The unit had beach chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler, which was so nice to enjoy. The communication was excellent and extremely responsive, even though we didn't run into any issues during our stay. We ended up staying here because we couldn't get into my parents Worldmark unit. The location of the building is perfect. It is in close proximity to several restaurants & shopping and the beach couldn't be better. It is a good swimming beach with some rocks off to the right for snorkeling. It was so nice to be able to run back up to the room for lunch or to go to the bathroom and not have to load all of the stuff up into the car. The building is a little older, but very well maintained, as well as the grounds and the pool area. They have a nice sitting area right above the pool, where you can relax with a drink and watch the ocean. The unit is beautiful and clean with nicely upgraded appliances and the master bath was nicer than mine at home. Nice view out the lanai. We ate out there whenever we were in the room. They had lots of dishes, towels, snorkel gear, Tommy Bahama backpack chairs and a cooler to use. I have already recommended this to my friends and will most likely be coming back. We met the owners while waiting for the room and they were also very friendly and had lots of information to share. Don't miss out on this one!

The unit met (and exceeded) our expectations, beautiful furnishings, spacious, well stocked for all our needs in the kitchen bedroom were large, the bathroom were very modern and clean. Chairs and coolers for the beach on the deck, even had snorkel gear for us to use out on the beach…We will absolutely book this condo again. The location is exceptional both within the complex and in Kihei. The ocean view is just wonderful; we took our seats on the deck and enjoyed the sunset on many nights. Loved the location and loved the unit. Highly recommend this unit. The accommodations are fantastic.

We LOVED staying in this unit. Hearing the ocean waves through the lanai door and eating on the lanai was amazing. Saw whales breaching, spouting, & playing while sitting on the lanai within 30 minutes of arriving. The condo was beautiful - loved the kitchen! Classy decor - very clean. It is on a gorgeous beach. A great condo on one of the best beaches in Kihei. The unit has updated appliances and a completely modern feel, better than a lot of high priced hotels. The condo complex is older but very well maintained. It has open air walkways (covered) with great flora giving it a tropical Hawaiian feel. About 50 steps to the beach is so convenient for grabbing a quick snack or using the restroom . Other guests have left a good selection of beach gear and kitchen condiments that are a nice touch. The rental process was straight forward and convenient. We'll be back!!

The description of this unit on the VRBO and owner's websites are the most accurate you will ever see. Very thorough and honest without exaggeration in descriptions! Read other reviews and elsewhere for the virtues of Keawapaku Beach - it is a fabulous spot. Walk or jog a few miles to the south on the beach and on one if the world's greatest beachfront walks between world class hotels and the Pacific. The unit itself is nicely upgraded with upscale appliances in the kitchen and fully stocked with great Hawaiian themed dishes and kitchenware. Very nicely maintained with ceiling fans everywhere for comfort and ambiance. As noted in the description, the interior walkway (and very cool open air gardens) can be a little bit noisy for the bedrooms if you do not close the upgraded double hung windows. The only negative of this is it can get a bit stuffy in the bedrooms - but they both have nice ceiling fans and we did not find the noise or the potential stuffiness to be a problem. Nice view of ocean from the unit and it's lanai.
The building itself is older style wood construction but it has held up very well and visitors called it quaint and very comfortable. Overall we would describe the building as quiet - not a late night partying venue.
In sum - the ultimate question is would we return to this unit? Absolutely - we are already making plans to do so.

Unit has an excellent stocked kitchen, bedrooms are right next to each other and like all other reviews of this place absolutely no sound barrier. You can hear everyone, kids arrived next door and below us 2 days before we left, if they had been there the whole time I would have gone insane with the crying nightly and 1st thing in the morning. This building should not allow children at all because of how its built, I can't believe people pay a million bucks for one of these and have zero peace and quiet.I had to go out and buy a $38 tommy bahammas chair as it stated they had 4, well they had 1 broken one and the other 2 were not comfortable, the umbrella was also not a tommy bahammas and didnt do the job at all. Also ran out of toilet paper 3rd day and it's not cheap so you had better pick up some at Costco when you arrive, they have left us 4 rolls for 2 weeks lol. Excellent beach but the deal breaker for us was the noise..you could hear everyone's conversation going on whether you wanted to or not.

This condo is stunning. It is an incredible value to get this much space directly on the beach, have a full kitchen, and be able to cook for yourself in a "home away from home" sort of atmosphere. My husband and I had a wonderful visit, the amenities are great, and it ended up being less than 1/3 of what I had spent previously in a nearby hotel, and we didn't have to go out for every meal. I read a previous review about noise, and I am not sure what the issue was, there is a number to call in the welcome book if people are making noise late (which I did once and it was immediately handled). The feeling of the property is very open, almost bungalow-esque, and we were thoroughly charmed. Downtown Kihei is close, so there is a local environment that allows you to not spend as though you are on a fancy vacation, and Wailea is even closer so you can get fine dining and upscale shopping if that is what you want. The beach is pristine and being right on it is as perfect as it gets in Maui, the decor in the condo is charming and up kept very well...I would recommend this vacation to ANYONE.

Located directly on a beautiful beach, convenient location close to restaurants and shopping. Kihie Cafe is awesome for breakfast. Condo has most everything you need, from kitchen supplies to beach chairs. We enjoyed our stay. The only drawback is a lack of privacy, as all the bedrooms are located on the central walkway between the units. This unit has fully enclosed windows but you really need to keep them open in order to sleep comfortably. Probably not a good choice for families with small children as the emphasis is on quiet. We had no issues with noise during our stay as everyone seemed to honor the quiet hours. The owner, Peter was always available via e-mail for any issues, though we had few. Overall, we had a great stay.

We frequent Maui almost annually, but our usual condo was under construction. Searched high and low for something comparable and was extremely impressed with this unit. Décor is nice, amenities great and you can't beat the few steps to the sand! Had a couple of issues with the tower fans not working, but there were enough fans to keep us cool. Sarento's and Five Palms restaurants have always been "go-to's" for us and it was terrific to be next door to both. We would definitely stay here again!

Afternoons and evenings the living area gets pretty warm but the bedrooms were comfortable for sleeping.. We found the building to be quiet and the beach perfect. The sound of the ocean while having dinner and morning coffee on the lanai was a daily delight for us. This is a lovely condo in a great location.

Rented at the Hale Hui Kai and was not disappointed. Location was superb. All the way at the far end of Kihei where Wailea begins. Out of the way of the Kihei traffic and hustle and bustle. The property itself was perfect. Condo had all the amenities, great kitchen and appliances, chairs and beach towels, TV, and rooms were nice. Two excellent qualities were access to the beach and it was very quiet. A few steps and you're on Keawakapu Beach. Perfect spot to be and beach is excellent for children. The property was quiet and peaceful at all times which made for a relaxing visit. The ONLY negative was the tiny parking spaces in the parking lot made for an adventurous time parking a vehicle. lol Great place to stay and a place we will come back to for any future visits.

First off, before we left all our communication with Amalia was first rate. She was always quick to reply, helpful and accommodating. Instructions on how to get to the property, how to get in etc were also easy to follow and we had no issues at all.
The property itself is fantastic. The complex is in a great location and is kept immaculate.
We could not fault the condo the whole time we were there. There are awesome views and the lanai is perfect for kicking back and gazing out over the sea, at sunrise, sunset, well all day actually.
It seems like everything has been thought of in the condo. We really enjoyed being able to prepare our own meals in the kitchen, and there were some beach chairs and umbrellas we were also able to use.
The worst part of our trip here was when we had to leave. This place is amazing and we hope we can return sometime soon in the future.

Hale Hui Kai has become an almost annual event (trying diligently to make this annual!) The beds, bathrooms and kitchen are all top notch! Walking to the beach is so easy - and because it is quite private you may leave your personal belongings on the beach (during lunch or bathroom breaks) without fear of loss. We had coffee every morning on the lanai overlooking the beach and ocean - and also dinner watching the sunset - all from our own condo! Many folks come here annually, and get to know each other - quite a close knit community here. I felt safe and happy here and would recommend this beautiful condo to any family - whether you have young children or not - it is appealing for everyone!

The kitchen is very well equipped. My only criticism is that the sofabed-couch is not very comfortable as a couch. But the two lounge chairs provided all the evening seating we needed.

This wonderful condo and location gave our family the much needed rest and serenity we were needing. So great to just walk down to the beach and jump in the ocean! A small deli and local restaurants are literally next door, so we didn't even leave our first two days. Everything was right there. Beach is very clean and the water pristine. Our host quickly answered any questions we had and the on site staff was very attentive. The condo was also spotless! Our host was genuinely caring and really made sure we had everything we needed.
Some of the reviews had mentioned thin walls and the possibility of noise. That only happened one day with a few young boys running up and down the halls. Our daughter politely asked them to stop and they did with no problem. I can see where it could get irritating if you're next to a loud group, but everyone there really respected each other and we all kept the "peace" the place offers.
The condo is down the road from the shops of Kihei, so you have to drive if you want to "go into town". We loved the quiet location and just went into Kihei when we wanted. We discovered the award winning fish tacos at Cocoanuts and highly recommend them for dinner. Very reasonable price. Grand Wailea is just down the road too, so my daughter and I enjoyed a spa day there and my husband and I went down there for a drink and Hawaiian music one evening. Everything is within a 5 minute drive.
Overall, this is my number one pick to stay and I hope we can return in years to come!

The hale hui kai condo complex is perfectly located in Kihei and easy to get to all areas of Maui. Close to good restaurants and great snorkeling of Makena and Kihei. It is literally only steps to a great beach with easy snorkeling. Amalia described the hale hui kai condo complex as old time Hawaii, this is accurate, but the condo complex is fully updated and well kept. Watching sunsets from the beach or the grassy area in front of the complex and great views of the ocean and beach from the lanai are all post card perfect. This is a quiet location that is great for families, and couples. It is a small complex with only approximately 40 units. Amalia was helpful via e-mails before and after our stay. I would highly recommend this location and this condo. Kitchen is well updated and the condo has roomy bedrooms and very sufficient closet space. Only drawback was the sleep sofa as it was showing its age, but it is a sleep sofa with a wonderful view.

It was great to have air-conditioning on those hot afternoons when we would get ready to go out to dinner! Weather was perfect.
Our condo had everything we needed and then some, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, plenty of towels. If you're looking for a great place to stay in Maui, this is it .

We had a group of 5 stay at the condo and we were very pleased with the cleanliness, upgrades(Beautiful cabinetry, large granite counter top) and the location. It is steps away from the surf on a beautiful beach. The deck has an electric barbeque that does a great job in grilling and Tommy Bahama beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels that make it totally comfortable to enjoy So. Kihei Beach.
My 16 year old granddaughter took the couch which rolled out to a very comfortable (new) bed. The entire condo(bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms) was very tastefully completed to enhance our whole experience.
I would very highly recommend this condo for your next Maui vacation.

This is a comfortable condo in a great location! You can go all week without getting into your car. Renters should be aware, that there are no beach umbrellas, boogie boards, swim noodles, or snorkeling gear. So, if you want those things to enjoy your beach vacation, bring them in a large suitcase or be prepared to buy them yourself.

We have stayed at the Hale Hui Kai previously. We very much enjoyed our stay in unit #208. We hope to stay there again in the future. The unit is modern, great for cooking and entertaining. The view is amazing from the lanai. I would recommend this unit.

As advertised Unit 208 was perfect for a couple and an adult son. The beach was beautiful from our balcony. The updated kitchen was well stocked and spacious. Bedrooms were good and all was immaculate. We will certainly be back.

By far the best location. Right on the boarder of Kihei and Wailea, only thing between you and the beach is a flight of stairs or an elevator, and about 20/30 feet. So close to the best beach, not busy and the ocean is calm right here. Close to the food and shopping in Kihei and the shops and fancy hotels in Wailea. One of the few units that has AC makes it a little nicer on the humid nights. Kitchen was well equipped, furniture, beds etc all in great condition and comfortable. Would not hesitate to return, planning for next year already.
The facility does not allow BBQs on the property, but if you really need to, the owners of the unit have provided an Electric BBQ. Unusually quiet, hardly heard anyone else in the building except for some noise from a remodeling of a unit but it was late late morning/afternoon while we were on the beach.
Owners of the unit were very responsive and easy to work with. The on site management company were very quick to respond to an issue with the TV (operator error!) and the facilities and gardens were very well kept.

Wonderful amenities and a fantastic location. Property has everything you need, minus groceries and personal items of course. You're steps away from a fairly quiet beach with a beautiful view from your deck. Air conditioning works well and the floor plan is spacious. Never had any issues with other quests or parking. The entire property was clean and well kept. I will book here again if we come back to beautiful Maui again. Safe travels!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hale Hui Kai. There was everything we needed and the condo was very clean. We enjoyed breakfast on the lanai and watching the whales from the beach every evening. It was so nice not to have to drive to the beach. And with a couple of nearby restaurants you can just walk everywhere. This is a great location. They keep the property and gardens in immaculate condition. Management was very helpful with the few items we needed help with. Would definitely stay here again.

The best thing about this property is its location on a great beach. Its a long and beautiful sandy beach with few rocks, that was clean and quiet and only a few steps from the condo.
The condo complex is showing its age but the condo we stayed in was recently remodeled and more modern. The absence of an in unit washer and dryer was a bit inconvenient but the shared units on the floor worked fine. The ocean view from the unit's balcony is partially obstructed but ok. The owner was helpful and responsive to questions in advance but does not live in Hawaii. The building was managed by Bello realty. The location in relation to other Maui destinations was good. There wasn't much to do or see in Kihei beyond the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Maui and would give this condo a 4 star rating.

We had a great time at Amalia and Gary's condo. The location was wonderful, right on the beach with views of the ocean from our patio. The beach is one of the best we found on south Maui. The condo was wonderfully stocked, and Amalia was very prompt about sending instructions. The condo has AC, but we didn't end up using it, since we liked the fresh air and the ceiling fans were sufficient. Short drive into Kihei or Wailea for restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful condo. Imagine waking up in the morning and taking a walk on the beach which is literally steps from your front door.
Enjoy basking in the sun and swimming in the warm waters.
Very well appointed with all necessary amenities throughout. Great layout. The living room has a nice couch with two recliners. Nice large flat screen TV with satellite programming.
The kitchen has Granite countertops, all plates, utensils, pots,pans, coffee-maker, microwave and everything you need to cook great meals during your stay.
The balcony has a great view of the ocean where you can sit out and listen to the sound of the waves over a cup of coffee in the morning and later over a glass of wine watching the sunset.
The bedrooms are large and comfortable. No TV, but you really won't miss it. Bathrooms are nice and clean. The master shower is a nice large walk-in.
Would recommend stocking up at Costco after arriving at the airport. Costco is right by the airport. The airport is about a 30 minute drive from Hale Hui Kai depending on traffic. There is a Safeway about 8 minutes from the condo, but be aware it is super expensive. Seems like every time we went to Safeway we spent $100.
Overall a great stay. Would definitely stay in unit 208 again.

Our condo was perfect for a 5 person family. It had a great view of the ocean/beach. It was clean and all the appliances were in great working order. It was well furnished and even provided 4 beach chairs and an umbrella. We loved the design of the condo and all the landscaping. Plenty of places to relax outside your condo if you are inclined. It is on the south end of Kihei, close enough to get to shopping and restaurants but not right in the middle of all the tourist chaos. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

This condo complex is right on Keawakapu Beach, one of the absolute best beaches on Maui, and there is a nice view from the unit's lanai. My husband and I enjoyed walks along the beach in the morning and watching the amazing Maui sunsets from right on the beach in the evening. The condo is stocked with everything you could need, a real home away from home. Lots of good shopping and restaurants nearby. We had to reschedule our trip from July 2020 to July 2021 and Amalia was great to work with. Highly recommend this unit, a great value.

My wife and I, along with our three children, really enjoyed our stay at Hale Hui Kai! It really was the perfect location! Step out of the room, down the stairs, on you're on the beach. It literally is that easy. The condo was super clean and ready when we arrived. We loved being able to see the beach from the Lanai. Enjoying a drink watching the sunset was definitely a highlight. It was also so close to the shops at Wailea, and the Wailea Resorts, so we were able to enjoy some outstanding dining. We would definitely stay at Hale Hui Kai again. Thank you for helping make this such a wonderful vacation!

We spent a week at the Hale Hui Kai. It was perfect and exactly what we were looking for! The condo is a prime location for boogie boarding, snorkeling, and playing in the sand. The kids enjoyed the pool while my husband and I enjoyed sitting in the condo communal area in the evenings. The condo building was overall very quiet and the other guests were incredibly friendly. Definitely read the warning about the water sensor! It WILL go off if it senses even a minor amount of moisture. If I were to make any recommendations, they are super minor. We had to rent boogie boards (but totally worth it) and the bathmat in the master bath got super smelly right away. I wish there had been a spare. Next time we visit Maui we will definitely try to stay here.

Was debating between this property and one in Wailea...so glad we chose this one! First of all, the vibe was way more relaxed and cozy than in Wailea... and the beach right outside, is the best!! One evening there were people playing ukuleles in the common outdoor area overlooking the beach. We sat and drank wine and watched children catching mini crabs and roasting smores on the beach right below. It was such a pleasant and nostalgic night. Everything was clean and as expected, and the location was fantastic. Next time I go to Maui, I will stay here!

Having spent the last 12 years in rentals on Maui for New Year's family reunions, I can honestly say that this is one of the best rentals we've had. Location is perfect on Keawakapu beach (my local cousins favorite beach on the whole island).

We really enjoyed our stay at Hale Hui Kai with the easy pool and beach access. Snorkeling and boogie boarding are both excellent depending on weather conditions. We saw many sea turtles both in the water and resting on a nearby beach inlet. The property has a wonderful outdoor lounging area by the pool overlooking the beach with sofa and chairs.

First, wifi was good because I did spend some time doing work while there. Second, the place was clean and cool, which was nice in the heat. Two bedrooms, one with a dedicated bathroom/shower and a second full bath for the other bedroom. Open area kitchen and living room with seating for multiple people. The three of us had more than enough space. Third, wonderful close access to the beach with a view of the beach from our deck. A well-maintained property with a pool and path to the beach w/ a sand wash-off station. Less than a mile from shopping and necessities; maybe two miles to groceries. Plenty of other nearby beaches and parks to explore. Great snorkeling on the local beach and up to small reefs less than a couple hundred feet away.
